Born in London, England…Pam Sawyer came to New York in the early 1960s where she connected with Holland, Dozier, Holland who signed her as a Motown songwriter. Pam Sawyer and Marilyn McLeod co-wrote “Pops, We Love You” the tribute to Berry Gordy’s father commissioned for his 90th birthday party.
She was honored in the Women of Motown series, presented in conjunction with Women's History Month 2021. Each day a new, original portrait was revealed from March 1 through March 31, celebrating the featured woman's contribution to Motown's success.
