Mary Wells was a crossover artist who diversified Motown's audience. Her biggest hit was 1964's "My Guy" which reached #1 on the pop charts. Ms. Wells was the first female singer at Motown to appear on the popular television program, American Bandstand, which was a huge boost for the Motown brand.

She was honored in the Women of Motown series, presented in conjunction with Women's History Month 2021. Each day a new, original portrait was revealed from March 1 through March 31, celebrating the featured woman's contribution to Motown's success.

The portraits are now available for purchase.
