Iris Gordy, who is Berry Gordy’s niece, began her career in Motown's renowned Quality Control Department in Detroit. A trailblazing music industry executive, Iris Gordy was producing and running studio sessions at a time when it was still rare to find a woman in this capacity. 
 
She was honored in the Women of Motown series, presented in conjunction with Women's History Month 2021. Each day a new, original portrait was revealed from March 1 through March 31, celebrating the featured woman's contribution to Motown's success.
