Chris Clark was a California girl with Hollywood glamour and a soulful voice. She started as a receptionist at Motown and graduated to recording artist. In 1969, Chris Clark became Vice-President of Motown Productions and was co-writer of the 1972 movie “Lady Sings The Blues” for which she received an Academy Award nomination.

 

She was honored in the Women of Motown series, presented in conjunction with Women's History Month 2021. Each day a new, original portrait was revealed from March 1 through March 31, celebrating the featured woman's contribution to Motown's success.
